The effort to preserve the NC Racial Justice Act is not over.

Earlier this week we reported the exciting news that Gov. Bev Perdue vetoed Senate Bill 9, which would have repealed the Racial Justice Act. Within 36 hours of our asking, more than 550 PFADP members sent the governor messages of thanks.

If you live in North Carolina, please take a moment now to send a letter to the editor of your local newspaper in support of the governor’s veto and the RJA. We have put together an action for you here that will automatically direct you to the local newspapers in your area and allow you to submit your letter electronically.

Included in the action are a simple prepared message and various talking points that you can choose to add to your letter. We encourage you to personalize your message but please keep it short, under 150 words.

If you do not live in North Carolina but know someone who does, please encourage them to take action by clicking here.

We would also appreciate your financial support this holiday season to ensure that we can continue to offer you timely and effective updates and actions. You can offer your support here.

Happy Holidays!
